    Welcome Eric.
    %SystemRoot%\System32\imageres.dll
    Is where several system icons are. Other will reside in their respective program files.

    Britton30 is pointing you in the right direction. Actually, the C:\Windows\system32\folder has dozens and dozens of .dll files, many of which have multiple icons in them, all available to use. Here are some of my favorites:
