Windows 7: What don't you like about Windows 7?

There is ONE thing I don't like about Seven - and one only. It actually displays games like they're supposed to be displayed. Vista would scale all games to the size of my laptop screen, but Seven puts them where they're supposed to be.

So I'm mad that they actually corrected something!

That's a blanket statement with no truth and no facts to back it up.

Those last two comments (oops, the two comments prefious to the one obove this one) are entirely driver related issues.

And in my case my M-Audio hardware demonstrates that both of them are exactly that. M-Audio drivers have "shutdown issue" that I had to work around with a scheduled task and at the same time puts the lie to the last one as the audio latency is on the order of a handful of ms and I can record anything currently going out the master mixer (i.e. to the speakers).

Creative and other companies have been SO completely uncooperative with the driver changes it's almost like they have dug their heels in the sand and are trying to make Vista and Seven fail by refusing to cooperate. Meanwhile other companies are moving ahead at full steam (though in M-Audio's case they were slow out of the gate with Vista).

WINDOWS 7 has no such problems. The equipment manufacturers poor driver support does.

[Edit] Solution? Stop buying hardware from companies that refuse to "work" for their living and support their users present and past with upcoming technologies and tell them point blank why.

Since this never happened to me before, I can't say it's a Win7 issue, or all the OS's do this. But in W7, when I go to download and install the latest MS patches, it runs fine but then returns a msg stating that two installations failed.

But it does not tell me which ones.

After rebooting, I try to update again, and that is when I can see the two files that apparently failed.

Annoying that is says a download or install failed [among many] but then does not tell you which one.

I've not had any startup or shutdown issues. It starts up... It shuts down.

If you purchase a copy of windows 7 cant you put it on as many computer at home you want? i don't want to say too much more on grounds that may incriminate myself.

One licence = One install

If more than this - all installs will fail validation and stop functioning.

validation is due to start shortly

That has to do with the drivers for the graphics card. Atleast for me ATI gives me an option of how to scale smaller resolutions on my monitor.
