Windows 7: What don't you like about Windows 7?

What I don't like is the fact I was tricked into getting Vista for my parents' machine.
Its slow. Slower than XP64 by a great deal.

So now I have two choices, upgrade them to Seven, put them back to XP64 or keep them at Vista64 U for now.
OR...
get an iMac 21 refurb from Apple.

I'm on a Macbook Pro 15 and I absolutely love it. The only problems I had so far were with Microsoft Office '08 - which I fixed by installing NeoOffice; and only using MS Office when I have a compatibility issue.

My Roxio 2009 (Vista complient) will not work in W7.. Company is expecting us to buy Roxio 2010 (what is it with being a year b4 their time??).. I just went to a free burning.
Another very new (Vista complient) will not work.. Not sure if will get upgrade or need to rebuy.
My harddrives aren't recognized by the software.. Not real new, but not that old, and still supported by the company. I had to get DLL drivers that with each rebuild I must stick in the computer & point to it to get it to work.
My Router is not working in W7.. But still working with the older software. Not sure if I will need to buy a new one, working with the networking board on the issue..

This list is not after installing 100 software programs. It is after installing 2.. and only being on it for 1/2 a day. I am sure my list will grow.

Bottom line (although the majority of my programs are VISTA complient.. ) I foresee this as a very expensive conversion...

One more gripe..
I liked the add/remove program being labeled Add/remove.. Quick to find in the control panel.. Now it is lost in a sea of stuff.

A long thread..

Way back in the thread. was this comment.
I'd agree with most of this.
Also the "organise" menu seems to crude in its grouping and content.

- "instant" search not as instant as claimed
- still many dumb defaults, two examples: "hide extension for known file types" or "system failure /automatically restart"
- still trying to force me too much to use specfic myxxxx folders.
- new themes engine is just very basic, nothing compared to third party solutions
- Configuring firewall still too complicated compared to third party solutions.

You know what I don't like about Seven?

Absolutely nothing. I love it.

It's leaner, meaner, and faster than my old Vista 64 install, which sometimes would take more than three minutes to boot up. Seven uses less memory for the same desktop resources, my gadgets don't constantly disappear and reappear, and I haven't found any of the software that I have been using with Vista and XP that doesn't work with Seven.

Oh, before I forget, Media Center actually works right, and doesn't keep losing it's codecs, making me constantly have to reboot my extender, and defend my purchase of Vista to my wife, yet again.

It isn't perfect, but it's a pretty good try at fixing a few things that were wrong with Vista. Vista actually wasn't so bad, really, but Seven is what Vista should have been to begin with. Now I can really laugh at those stupid Mac commercials that are already slamming Seven. They aren't quite so accurate anymore when they make fun. Besides, I'll set myself on fire before I'll buy a Mac.

This is Windows 7, there are no more Errors, who needs any Error Log!? Unless your using Internet Explorer, or Miscrosoft Word or acutally doing something with the PC you should not experience any Errors anymore!!

ROFL!!

99% of all complaints about not being able to find stuff can be solved by following that advice. We should have a "No complaining about your inability to search" rule.

Ok, I'm gonna rip it a new one.

No Media Player Dock, I was spoiled with the thing and I want it back.
No Folder Thumbnail Customization, that I can find.
More options added on Right-Click
Taskbar Pins.
LIBRARIES!
Lack of .gif support.

Although that's about it. Most of which I can fix with Freeware downloads.

No complaints here yet

Edit-I don't like the way they try to stop you from using 3rd party codecs like core avc, and also the way that HW manufactures don't support drivers for older HW anymore-even though 7 is cable on running on the worst HW better then XP.
