Windows 7: What don't you like about Windows 7?

What I don't like are few UI bugs.

1. If you have a program open, right click on its taskbar item, to open the jumplist. Don't select any item in the jumplist, just click anywhere in the program area. Then on the titlebar, the program will appear as active, but on the taskbar, no program will be active.

2. The use of seeker in the Windows Media Player makes the program's window appear inactive on the titlebar, but stays active on the taskbar.

3. Use of any button on the thumbnail of Windows Media Player, makes program stay highlighted, after you move the mouse away, and thumbnail disappears.

Looks like new taskbar, didn't get enough beta tests.
Where do I report them, so they could be resolved, in next update.

I would imagine that the idea of giving students the discount is because you could look at them as the future so giving them help to prepare for that by enabling them to move forward a little cheaper is a good thing.

In another of your posts you seem to think you should be above anyone else because you are a vet......etc, etc
...I never said I/we were "above" anyone else, but we darn sure are at least equal and deserve the same treatment! A 70+% discount for college students is obscene. 10%, maybe even 15% discount I could agre with, but 70+%, no way Jose! It is not Kosher.

Coolwalker: I honestly didn't know how poor you vets are. Please PM me your mailing address and I will send you a copy of Windows 7, free of charge. Please tell which version you want (Home, Pro, Ultimate?). I really don't want you to be forced to use your hardly earned money to be able to use this fabulous OS. Let me help you.

I am sure you were not being sarcastic and I appreciate the offer but that is not necessary.

Daily BSOD's, doing simple things seem to be more difficult and complex than in XP, having full permissions to folders and still not being able to access them, control panel, lack of compatibility with simple drivers from a vista installed PC... I could go on but, i'm tired of Computers/Windows and everything relating to either.

Windows XP was the only decent & stable OS and it appears it will stay that way.

Are you referring to folders like Document and Settings?

Drivers are hardly "simple."

Were you not around for the day Windows XP was released? It was a disaster worst then Windows Vista! It took three service packs and several years to get where its at.

Why I think you are having such a hard time is because you are coming from a mindset you established in Windows XP. But the sad story is, Windows 7 is not the disaster named Windows XP.

I just bought my laptop about 2 months ago, i've been running Windows 7 Professional for about 6 weeks now (I was able to receive a full version through school before release) and it actually worked fine for about 4 weeks and now i get BSODs every day, for multiple reasons i've yet to identify...

when I say "simple drivers" i'm just talking about video, sound, network that really shouldn't be affected by going from Vista to 7 but decide to cause BSODs.

I don't recall when I even started using XP but I would have been happy if no new Windows was ever released, I prefer the simplistic ease of use and dependability that windows XP has offered for the last couple of years.

I'm going to look into reverting my Laptop back to XP (even though it came with Vista). Getting drivers will probably be difficult but i'm going to try to make it work. Windows 7 isn't worth the heart ache.

99% of all complaints about not being able to find stuff can be solved by following that advice. We should have a "No complaining about your inability to search" rule.
You have to know what things are called now to search for them.

If you don't what it is called...how did you find it in the first place? By looking at the pictures

Honestly that logic makes no sense...

Be carefull, Going back to XP can void your PCs warranty, and XP drivers may not work with some of your new hardware. Although you seem to be aware of the driver rollback problem; finding proper drivers for the new hardware I'm afraid, may not be possible. You might want to do some research first. Although I don't plan on reverting, I AM curious. Please let me know if you find them.
Good luck.

Thank you for your informed comment. I think I have beaten that horse to death earlier in this thread. Further comment would be redundant. Sorry for the snipe. (Short comment - (Often derogatory) used to make a point.)
