Windows 7: What don't you like about Windows 7?

I'd have to say wireless as well. Believe it or not Ubuntu 9.10 (the newest version) works better with the wireless N card built into my Acer laptop than the Windows Ultimate that I've replaced it with. I got 70%-100% with Ubuntu and I get 30%-50% with Windows.

Aside from that there's nothing! I'm loving Win7 so far on my desktop and ultra-portable. I think that properly configured it could easily be a match for OS X, which lets face it is the only real competitor to Windows' monopoly. (Or would be if they didn't charge laughable amounts for their hardware. lol)

The fact that I can' manually rearrange folders or files in Windows Explorer.
and being forced to use Windows Media Player 12, which is very glitchy. Given the choice, I'd switch back to WMP 11.
I have not been able to find a WMP 11 downgrade yet that is fully functional on Windows 7 64-bit.

Download the KMPlayer and be done with Windows Media Player. It does it all, and does it well.. Except, it does not sort your music, but if that is what you are into, I am told jaangle is the way to go.. I am still trying to get over Itunes, which is what I have used up until recently to manage all my audio, audiobooks, etc.. Then, with latest release, it started creating random dups within my music.. very frustrating.. So, I am looking for a replacement..

For video, Kmplayer is the way to go:

I've had no issues with WMP 12. But I don't really use it for music, only DVDs. I use Winamp for my music.

I am going to admit that i recently switched to a mac, but i still use my windows 7 machine often. since i have switched to a mac things get done quicker, and i didn't have to buy extra software, mac came with most it pre installed. another thing is that didn't have to configure my mac a bunch just to get it to work. I just pressed on and entered my name and some information and off i was. with windows i have to configure this and this and this and this and this, just to get to the welcome screen and if something goes wrong, omg i may have lost everything, so now i have to start all over.

not dissing windows or anything, but Microsoft can still do much better at configuration and built in programs.
Also, consider the vast variety in preferences Windows Users have, and note, that no matter what Microsoft did, they were going to piss some users off. I generally agree, that removing some functions Users have may have gotten used to (ie:classic start menu) was a bad idea. More options is always better than few, though I bet some will re-act negatively even to that. Still, I imagine those would be in the minority. Giving users the benefit of choice is best, and the more choices the merrier..

Windows does work well generally when you first turn it on, but yeah, as a long time user, I usually anticipate spending an hour or two minimum setting up my system the way I like it every time I re-baseline or build a new system.. I have come to enjoy this time. Sort of like spring cleaning, without the feeling of work.. or almost without the feeling of work.. There are just so many 3rd party apps/controls/fixes out there to tweak Windows, and everyone has their preference..

Thats not a windows 7 flaw thats probably just a under speced computer, You cant run more then your system is built for. Has nothing to do with the OS itself.

Windows 7, Linux

Yes but MS does supply a lot of generic drivers. And the end result is we've had the specs for emu10k1 public for years, infact KX has audio drivers for it. I find it funny that openly released drivers (as it's on linux) can't be incorperated in to windows. And as far as linux goes, it's not so much the manufacturers don't have the code but linux isn't pay for, so nobody is going to get the license to run the drivers. Yeah so the manufacturers won't release the code, but that's not my problem with the emu10k1 drivers, because they have code out there. It's been out there for years....

On another note, I will agree... Creative has pissed me off something about that too. Really bad...

Also, yes when you put a post about "what you like/dislike" isn't that telling us to bring the soap box!? I mean really, wtf else are you asking. Any opinion statement is a soap box statement so don't bring in those jokes it's lame.

Did they ever fix that problem where the first few seconds of MP3 files are deleted?
