    so the process you followed was: claim caching is problem > find buggy driver > disable service related to driver > reboot, with caching still enabled > claim that caching was the problem.
    If you haven't been following his posts, he has been disabling SuperFetch, indexing and a variety of other things to improve his performance. His argument here was more or less, "yet again, another service robbing my system of performance". Although in this case, it is a buggy driver, will be fixed and is certainly a problem.

    I just looked at my machine after using it for about 2 hours this morning and here is what task manager shows with caching and everything else enabled;

    I have had the situation after using a lot of other apps where my free RAM is much lower..and my cached RAM is much higher....but I cannot honestly say that I have seen any performance difference whatsoever. Even with ALT-TAB between applications using an Nvidia card and still having the 186 nvidia drivers.

    the best

    i think win7 is the best Op. Sys. by M.S.
    i tried using 1ram 2 ram 4 ram with no problem whats so ever .
    where as in the past i had to upgrade ram in order to get a decent result with previous Op.sys.
    i am preety sure future Op.Sys will be more user friendly and powerful.

    I personally don't like (I can even say hate) that MS keeps re-naming and moving windows functions (or whatever you call it) around. I am talking about Control Panel. It is different even from Vista. Hate it, but it's just me..

    The Registry

    Other than that I love 7 and can't wait for 22/10/2009.

    So, here we go. After about 1 hour of just sitting here, my RAM is all used up. Less than 30MB free of my 8GB. The only running application is firefox. But my machine is 100% responsive, alt tab is fine, applications open super fast....it's just as if I rebooted a clean install and am just starting out for the day.

    I love windows 7, but the registry can get messy. I really think they should have their own registry cleaner.. although ccleaner works well.

    also rar support would have been nice and maybe a new computer/recycle icon (ha cant complain much about that though).. overall though i love w7, its an amazing upgrade of vista and how it should have been from the start

    Start Menu Folders

    The best thing about Windows was that I could create Folders on the Start Menu, such as Office, Games, App Dev, Internet, etc. Then place shortcuts in these folders for quick access to my most used Apps. Windows 7 will not let me do this. My productivity has come to a stand still. Please add this to Windows 7, that way I will like Windows 7 more than any other windows Os.

    Most people I guess put icons on their desktops, but this is very un-productive way to use windows.

    Thanks

    I love win 7 myself and one thing abt it that bothers me is the size of the winsxs folder after installing and un-installing apps. for that reason I dont install anything unless necessary. if you follow that philosophy you dont really need a reg cleaner. CCleaner works in win 7 but it can still cause problems so the less we use them the better
