Thats the cost of getting a more secure OS...
That is true and for the most part, welcome. However there are those occasions when it's just a pita :)

I just had a bsod today, while shutting down it said "Windows has found an unexpected error and has to shut down". Even though thats what I was already telling it too. Then when I booted it up everything was fine and a message said the same thing basically, that windows had an unexpected error and had to shut down. I was like... ok so it did what I wanted it to do... wheres the error?
It's most likely either a driver or an app getting tripped up during the shut down process. If it keeps happening, start a new thread and we should be able to help.

It must just be me, but i've not had a BSOD at all with Windows 7, even with the BETA builds

    Guess i'm just lucky
Most people have been. Key-word being 'most' :)

In one build the BSOD's were so bad, I lost my cool and in a fit of pique went back to Vista until the next build came along

Each successive build had less and less BSoD's until they almost stopped completely.

(Good old faithful Vista remained perfectly stable throughout the entire build evolution :) )

same here...but I had better luck. Build 7048 is the only build that has give me a BSOD. I shrugged it off and grabbed 7057 ASAP...no more issues until this very day

I reaaaly don't like that "They" have removed the 'Restore previous folder windows at logon' option and removed the the ability to display large icons on the control panel..... It's very irritating when you have like 6 or 7 explorer windows open and you restart your comp only to see to that you have to reopen every single one of the windows because some 'smart guys' think we don't need that feature.... Thinking about this thing really makes my blood boil.....

I am sorry but what have I tried? Now I need to post the pictures proving that odicile was incorrect in his assumptions about Windows settings...

It gets worse. I think odicile is describing a problem found, and fixed, in much earlier builds.

The lack of custom visual styles, but they will come soon enough. Got to remember that it takes time to finish a VS, and most people doing it doesnt get payed to do it either.
