Delete them, disable it in the registry... some open and save dialog boxes still show them on the left. They are still there.
Got it... so after deleting them, you still see a link under the folder tree on the right for libraries?? Yeah, I do not know of a way of getting rid of that, even if you have no libraries... The OS will retain the ability to create a library should you wish to, and you will still see that structure.. Maybe someone out there who is really adamant will code something that removes them all-together, but it will not come from Microsoft. Still, set your default save locations, and it should not be a huge issue.. Did I mention, I really like libraries..?
I am glad you like them. I can see the merit to them and know people who love the idea. However for the way I run my home network I find them useless and would rather they be gone completely. Not everyone uses their computer the same.
I don't like the fact that it is user friendly...
User-unfriendly = more time taken for exploring features, which indirectly keeps the excitement alive a little longer!
YouTube - Windows 7 is much more user-friendly
I wish they had made it more user friendly. I wish you could remove libraries, customize the login screen without extra apps etc etc
I just want an operating system that i can configure to fit my needs but its obviously too much to ask for
The only thing i dont like is Narrator...
It the same as Voice as Vista, but the narrator in 7 reads stuff after you close the window or even close the narrator itself
I really hate the bs about "can't modify this folder," "can't copy this file," "must have administrative rights..." I've given myself administrative rights (after all it's my damn computer!) and yet every time I try to copy certain zip, pdf, and doc files from my old computer I get the same crap about needing permission with no way to do so.
I miss the good old days when your computer belonged to you and it wasn't trying to be a nanny.
I've done everything I can find to give myself permission but it still gives me the same old issue.
Chkdisk....
If indexing service was indexing the file, and you renamed it during, W7 will run chkdisk on the next boot.
