    Event Log Lack of Help

I am tired of clicking on Event Log Online Help and receiving the following message:-
"Windows Operating System; Version: 6.1.7600.16385; Event ID: %n; Event Source: %s.
No results were found for your query. Please see Search Help for suggestions."

When help is available more often than not the article doesn't apply to Windows 7.

Is any one else frustrated by this.

Having been using win7 as my main OS for over a year, Like many others here, I have seen this type of frustrating message a few times. Some would say that it's to be expected with a new OS but agree that it can be an annoyance.

Now that you are here you may actually find more relevant answers here ....

You will find that every OS will use your hardware and when your hardware is being used it is on and when it is on it generates heat. Unavoidable. Nothing to do with Windows 7.

That sounds like a trolling comment considering the way it is expressed.

Well if that's your complaint, then you may as well not use a computer, because every computer in existence generates heat when powered on.

Same here! Honestly, I haven't come across a single thing that annoys me in Windows 7. Microsoft finally got it right this time. I'm just floored at how much I like this OS. Never was this excited about a new OS release like this one.

In another thread [his very first post here] he held Windows 7 OS directly responsible for cooking some of his hardware. So he's not joking, or exaggerating.

There have been a couple of cases of BIOSs and certain nvidia video drivers that have had contentions with 7 causing improper fan usage when running and/or sleeping. In every case I've seen it was fixed by a BIOS update or video driver update, so not specifically 7's fault. Short of that, I doubt there is much to it. 7 may use a /tiny/ bit more from your graphics card than before but NOTHING like playing a game on it. Nothing at all...

The scenario "I instaled 7 and 3 days later my video card burned out" does not mean 7 burned out your video card. It means that you installed 7 and three days later your video card burned out. Given hundreds of thousands of installs, it's bound to happen to quite a number of people purely by statistical chance.
