No, we dont have to use them, now. But if we dont complain about the features that we do not like, it increases the chances that those features will become a mandatory standard in the future.

I wonder why you bothered to install Seven, you obviously want an 98/XP/VISTA.SEVEN OS, I'm sure if you ask M$ nicely they'll knock one up for you, after all such a special customer as yourself they'll drop everything, one month, you haven't broke the suface yet, and your on your soapbox.
Why did we install it? As I said in my somewhat lengthy response to the original question, I drank the Pro-W7 cool-aid. Virtually every source of main media reporting on W7 was that it was perfect. I just assumed that threads like this one, and
Windows 7 Search Sucks! | OS Attack were full of lame whiners. But now, I have to say, while there is that element, there are lots of serious users, who have valid complaints. Also, possibly because some of us are not so lucky as to have complete freedom of choice when it comes to our computers. Now and then, there or organizational factors to consider.

Did you ever notice how many of Brink's excellent tutorials involve Registry edits? That suggests to me that there are usability issues beyond the skill of the typical user.

I have done that, but I really dont expect an answer. Here, on this forum, I have a fair expectation that someone will suggest I just snaffle the frammis, and the problem will magically disappear.

because win 7 thinks its doing me a favor by suggesting this folder to me all the time, weather i'm opening a file or saving one .

and shockingly, my massive media is stored and sorted my own way away from this folder .

You do know you can configure the libraries to point to any folder you want...right? It can point to dozens of different locations with one library. So why is that a problem? Libraries allows one not to use the locations in C:\Users\[username] but where ever you want! And Thus removing focus from C:\Users\[username]\Documents and using the Library instead.

Maybe I just don't see what the issue is with having your files where you want them and correlate them into a single view.

It irritates me that I have to go to a third-party utility like KatMouse to get the mouse scroll to work where it is hovering on a non-selected window or frame. I also wish that the Snip tool could be set to work like MWSnap to be a very fast take-a-pic for visual documentation of reminders.
I agree with this one. I use Xmouse. Personal preference !

I dont like that Explorer has been crippled with no user-settable toolbar, and no way (that I can find) to have one button that is
Let's face it; the reason for Opera, Firefox and Chrome is Internet Explorer. M$ haven't figured that out yet I guess !

But more than anything else, I dont like that in W7, "search", one of the most basic utilities of the digital world, takes a full semester to learn how to use, and there is no textbook for the class. I guess
Try this great search program. It's called Everything. It's lightening fast and there is NO learning curve. I set it up to run on the Win S key combo and it finds anything and everything instantly.

And finally, wysiwyg is a boob. The name of the forum is "What don't you like about Windows 7?" and then he makes dumb comments with nothing constructive!
