    why do i have to keep putting my password in?


    when i log in to my computer with my password, after the mouse has been still for about 3min i have to login with my password again. i knew how to stop this with my xp but cant seem to figure out how with windows 7. where do i go to fix this?

    Look in your screen saver settings (Right click desktop, Personalize, Screen Saver) and from there power management if necessary, to make sure your machine isn't going to sleep or screen saver mode and then "On resume display logon screen".

    i think you may have your settings to sleep after 3 mins of idle and with it set to require a password on wake.
    go to power settings in control panel and check.

    Password - Require on Wakeup
