make up a OEM disc
What it is, I want to make up a Dell OEM disc of Win 7 using a retail disc of Win 7. is there anywhere on the SevenForum, that will show me ho to do it. thanks:)

Define "Dell OEM Disk" ? What do you want to add to the regular OEM disk to make it a Dell OEM Disk?

If you're refering to "personalizing" it to make it have Dell stuff (Wallpapers, etc) then.... I say just copy a Dell OEM disk '--, (Use your own key when activating it; otherwise it's illegal!)
Of course, there's always the other approach (assuming you have Software Assurance with it, granting you imaging rights)..: Obtaining your PC's OEM CERT, OEM-SPL key, creating a deployment image, then use all of them to burn a modified CD.. @_@

Define "Dell OEM Disk" ? What do you want to add to the regular OEM disk to make it a Dell OEM Disk?

Try this. Make an ISO image of a regular Windows 7 32 bit OEM disk. Then edit the ISO file replacing the ei.cfg file in the sources folder with the one from the 64 bit disk, also copy the $OEM$ folder from the sources folder of the 64 bit disk and add it to the same location in the ISO file. Now burn the disk and see if it works.

Do you have 32 bit install media of some kind?
It sounds like you don't - if you got a boxed vwrsion of windows 7 - you should have both install dvd's in there.
You will need that as a starting point.
If you do have that - then Alpha's suggestion sounds like it would do the job.
If it's a Dell - you will probably have a file called PID.txt on the Dell recovery disc ( I can't recall where they put it - in the "sources" folder, I think ) - you can put that in as well - saves entering the product key manually.
It can only be used on the same machine, of course.

Why do you want 32 bit OS? If a 32 bit program will not work in Win 7 64 bit, it won't work in Win 7 32 bit. ALL my older/32 bit programs run without problems in Win 7 64 bit.
If you make a 32 bit "Dell" disc, the Dell product key will not work as it's for 64 bit.

That's a idea about the PID.txt, but it is for a dell system.
