Clipboard and MS Paint temporary files location

    Hello,

I wanted to know where does Clipboard and MS Paint save temporary files?
As far as I remember Clipboard should be holding the copied data in RAM and shouldnt save it on Disk until you paste it somewhere, but some complain that tats not true.

Once you make a screenshot via Print Screen and paste it into MS Paint, where does it save this file, before you Save it to Disk?

I believe that MS Paint maintains the bitmap in RAM, the image will become a file when you'll save it.
Clipboard also is maintained in RAM.

    Hope this helps.

I am almost certain that Clipboard is saved in RAM only, but not so much about MS Paint.

Because MS Paint is a much more complicated software and might have its temp folder.

mspaint is just a .exe in C:\Windows\System32 & if 64 bit in both C:\Windows\System32 & C:\Windows\SysWOW64 no folders, files you can not save any setting in paint like custom color when it restarts there gone.

Paint stores the image in memory, virtual memory to be exact, which might page out. It doesn't write to the disk until you save. You can watch this via Process Explorer.

I have actually tried to watch it via Process Explorer before posting here, but thanks anyway.
