System hangs, then display driver crahses then HDD disappears
Hi All,
Not sure where to post this as it encapsulates a lot of components in one go.
Ever since I installed Win7 x64 Pro I have had problems.
(EDIT: I had Windows XP 64 running on the same hardware without issues)
Intermittantly I get an issue where the system sort of stutters, it hangs (no change on display, mouse doesn't move) for a second, then is okay for 1 second (mouse updates to where you moved it to, screen updates), then hangs again and repeat. It can do this up to 20 times.
Sometimes it will just hang and stay there and I will need to hard boot the machine.
Most of the time I will get a message saying "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered" (NVIDIA drivers).
If this happens, then I lose access to 1 of my hard drives, all the partitions dissapear from Explorer and the hard drive is no longer reported by Device Manager. If I want to get the Hard Drive partitions back I have to reboot the machine.
In the Event Viewer I get the following:
Serveral of these one after another:
WARNING Disk Event ID 51
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\DR1 during a paging operation.
Followed by:
WARNING Ntfs Event ID 57
The system failed to flush data to the transaction log. Corruption may occur.
Then several:
ERROR yukonw7 Event ID 101
With this inbetween them:
ERROR iaStor Event ID 9
Can anyone help with this issue??
Many thanks in advance!
