Took ownership, but still no access??

    Took ownership, but still no access??


    I got a problem, after i click take ownership, nothing happens i still doesn't have access to that file

    Just an idea.. if you took onwership of the actual mp3 file, try doing it to the folder it's in and see if that helps.

    +1, failing that you can take ownership of 'My Documents' and see if that also helps :)

    Is this in Windows 7? My Documents is not real. It's a junction point. Go to the real folder.

    Taking ownership of files and folders does not give access to files and folders. It allows the owner to change permissions even if they don't have access rights to the files/folders. Check this post for giving the Authenticated User access to files and folders.

    Huh? What do you mean by next to. Isn't My Docs is just a mirror of things in Users?
