Install Windows 7. During setup, make sure you format all partitions, and merge them all as one, unless you want to have partitions for your data... Let Windows 7 install. Its better to not insert the key until after Windows is installed. Also, let Windows Update after installation is complete, to speed things up. When you are in the desktop after install, install the drivers one-by-one. Once you are done, run Windows Update to update Windows (make sure to install SP1). After installing the updates, go ahead and go to System, and type in your COA key into Windows. It should work, and you should be activated and ready to go. Install your preferred browser. Then, I suggest you make a complete System Image of your computer, so in-case anything happens, you don't need to go through the hassle of re-installing Windows 7, just restore from the system image. You can do so from Backup and Restore. Here's a tutorial how to do so: Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup

I'm still working on installing programs. So far, so good - it's just very slow going. I think I 'll do the image backup after I get my essential programs installed and working.

Alright then good. Have you installed MSE, drivers, updated and activated Windows yet?

Yes to everything, except there's a ton of Windows and Office updates. Right now, I'm backing up all my work files online. the backup program doesn't recognize a new installation, just a new computer - so I had to redo the whole thing. It'll probably take all night. Then, in the morning, I'll do the updates and let it do it's thing all day while I'm at work. Hopefully, they'll all install without a hitch.

No problem:). Just ask for help anytime you want. Did you ditch the other AV and stick with MSE?
