Windows 7: Downloads link under Favorites error

24 Aug 2011   #21

Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit

Ok, I get how to use it now, I think, but I don't think I can do anything with it since the folder I'm looking for (Downloads...right?) isn't listed..anywhere.

I think I just found my first gray hair.

You could check in the new Downloads folder, or in any other folder you think they may have been saved at, to see if they may happen to pop-up.

LOL, I hear you on the gray hair. Unfortunately I have a lot more than one.

Thanks A lot !!

Thanks Brink

your 2010 post helped me in 2016. My downloads shortcut stopped working with the common message of "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel". This was a return gift from Win 10 when i switched back to Win 7.

After hours of search and trying everything else ,i came across your post. finally issue resolved.

I've apparently forgotten how to deal with it, and I can't seem to find any other helpful posts. Speaking of helpful posts, I'm posting this under "Customization" in the hopes that...

The Favorites link in my Navigation Pane is there, but it does not work. If I click it it goes to a blank folder which is not my favorites folder. I can navigate to my favorites folder through c:\Users\username\Faorites and even place items there. However, for some reason the favorites in the...
