Merging the two partitions is a mistake. It's good to have two. On the first I keep the system and program files. On the second is all my data - photos , movies , music etc. If something happens and You have to preinstall the OS , You do not lose Your private files.

    Hi there

I'd suggest that MERGING those partitions is NOT a good idea.

The general consnsus is that it's better to keep the OS totally separate away from your data -- that way if you need to re-install or even change the OS you don't have to save and restore all your data as well.

I think the majority of Windows users on this forum would recommend the idea of a separate Windows partition for your OS (C:\) and other partitions for music, data, video, email etc etc.

Don't forget also to take regular backups too.

    Cheers
