Did you burn this Tuneup to a disc or is it a program that checks your computer?

    Run Startup Repair.
Also, avoid Tuneup and other related crap programs.

    thx

    danke !!!
lamkenIT, I will try what you suggest.

    deception,
the program was in a pack of "windows saving progs" I downloaded from torrent.
the Viris check from Avast, Soph, Malware was OK
the problem was that there was a READ ME .txt file which I couldn't read.
it was ...in Bulgarian (cirilic) I understand BG Language but my XP does not recognized the font so I saw only "kjdfhgjhdgkh"

    anywho. lets try startup repair
    than I will write back

zomby, you missd a line. WINdows does not start at all ! theres no strt>run etc
right now Im writing to you coz I have UBUNTU as a back up nplan in just such a cases.
So, once again: at the very begining, whwre on black screen you see for a first time windos logo. this logo goes and instead of playing the windows music and showing the blie screen with welkomme IT BEGINS A DISCK CHECK UP in a blue screen with a DOS font writeing :
    checking disc D
    initialization...
    checking 20% 39% 59% etc
    checking disc C
    inizialization...
checking 48% ...till it vomes to 100% and than disapears
HIRE Im thinking "now it should start with a blue screen"
but it does not! it reboots. Again a black screen with a logo windows for a short and after this again...
    checking disc D
    initialization...

    sh*t!

    solved!!!
    the solution is: F8

than recovery to a previous better session!
    #or
safe mode /switching all start up processes/

there is remaining problem with Tune Up utilities - IT DOES NOT WANT TO UNINSTALL COMPLETELY

---but I will catch it somewhere!

resume: 1. Install UBUNTU on a partition of your disc- it gives you security and on-Line help when the Windows dies totaly!
    2. Dont use TuneUp utilities unless you are 100% sure what you do and you have paid for it OFFICIALY so when something goes wrong you can search the Owner of TuneUP and demand reparation!
    3. but not last! RESPECT your buddies and sisters at the Forums- they ar ALL you ve got when you got f****d up

I'm sorry for your trouble but yours' is a good lesson about tampering with windows OS if you don't know what you are doing. If users have concerns or questions they need to get answers from MS certified professionals if possible BEFORE they try and tweak any of the OS system.

The fact is that from Win XP on you do not need any of these so called optimization programs that are being offered.

Many times not only do they DECREASE Win performance, they seriously compromise or damage the OS!

Beware of any downloads from torrent. It is a known pipeline for all sorts of malware and other nasty stuff, even the best security suites can miss some of the stuff!

Best bet for downloading legit free tools that are known to be safe is the software vendor's own website, nowhere else! (eg. java, adobe, malwarebytes, ect)

    If in doubt, DO WITHOUT.

Windows XP if they are maintained with Windows OS tools are reliable, fairly quick, and trouble free.
