HDD Lost Space

    I do use CC Cleaner. I kinda hate to mess with the restore points unless absolutely necessary. Will the system correct itself without creating a new restore point ? Thanks !

    Yes it will when Windows will finish to shift the amount of space. I know it looks terrible to hear that!

    whs- when I run the command, it states I must have elevated privileges ? How would I obtain ?

    You right click on cmd (in All Programs > Accessories) and click "run as admin".

    Great ! Stats are: Used Shadow Space 6.35GB Allocated Shadow Space 6.861 GB Max Space Allocated 10GB

    So what does that tell me ?

    It tells you that 6.86GBs are now used for restore points and that the system will continue use space up to 10GBs. If you do not want to use that much space for restoe points, you can reduce the space for the shadowstorage (just let me know and I tell you how). But remember that each single restore point can use up to 1GB.

    No problem. My concern was that I could not account for the space on my HDD after deletion of several large files.

    I have plenty of space and an external HD for my needs, but thought I should have more free space.
    Never imagined restore points took up so much space.
