    "Sort By" Menu Missing

    Hello,

The menu that I am showing in the attachement that I uploaded (sort by date, name, modified, etc), DOES NOT appear in the computer of a friend of mine.

When I log on his computer with a different username, the menu does appear, meaning that it is a problem in his profile.

I already tried several known tweaks on organize and menu views, but nothing worked so far

Does anyone have any suggestion or encountered this problem before?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello DrCR4zy,

Do you mean that the menu bar is not there to click on View to then select Sort by?

If so, then the tutorial below can help show you how to turn on the menu bar in Windows Explorer.

Menu Bar - Turn On or Off

In additon: File and Folder Arrangement - Group by - Sort by - Arrange by

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Hi Brink,

Thanks for the answer! No, what happens is that I did try options 1 & 2 from the tutorial (Menu Bar - Turn On or Off), but the menu is still missing.

I am guessing I will have to try the registry option, which I didnt until now.

Do you think it might help?

    Thanks again!

    DrCr4zy,

It could help. The REG file does a more thorough job. :)

You might see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated before you had this problem may be able to undo whatever caused it.
