RAM Question 12 GB verses 24 GB

Has anyone went from say 12 GB to 24 GB in Windows 7 x64 bit? Was there any difference? What did you notice? I understanf at this point Windows 7 x64 will only use 16 GB. Would you do it again after doing it?

Any help and comments are appreciated! Thanks.

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 has a limit of 16 GB of RAM.

Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise x64 can cope with up to 192 GB.

I seriously doubt you would notice anything unless you are doing heavy memory intensive applications.

I have a single rackmount Dell server with 24 GB of RAM, currently running all 5 of my company's virtual servers, and we aren't even hitting the memory fully. I doubt there's anything on a desktop that would need that much.
