    Folder disappeared

So I was dragging a folder off the USB drive to the desktop. I was dragging the folder up over the "Share Burn.... " menu bar and I must have let off the mouse button. Now the folder is completely gone and I cant find it anywhere? What the H$#@. Any ideas where the folder went?

    Thanks ahead of time

If you catch it before doing anything else, CTRL-Z usually works.

The folder may be hidden, go to control panel, on the little top bar select big iscons. on the control pannel, select folder options and mark invisible folders as visible.

If this doesn't work, you can try and do a system restore, but only if that folder is EXTREMELY important! A system restore will "make your pc travel in time backwards", whiich means you will loose all the new douments you've created. For more information on how to do this, please search this forum.

If you don't want to try this option, then use a recovery software like Recuva. This will probably be your best shot at recovering your documents.

try typing the name of the folder in the start menu search box.

I wish life had an undo button the way Windows does. I've messed up with the mouse alot using Win 7, and am usually able to undo any damages. You might try checking the parent folder to look for previous versions OF THAT FOLDER. Might be there's a shadow copy of the folder you lost there.

Still be nice to know where the thing went, yes?

    Good luck,
