Well i didn't take a look at windows 7 since it came out, just didn;t have the time to spend the time behind it. I want to run it on my PC, but before i do that i would like to know if some could tell me how it runs compared to vista. And has any one been running for over 2 months and if so what bugs did u run into

I have been running win 7 since december and I personally feel it substantially better than vista. Bugs in the early builds were video, raid, and some bios. by the time build 7100 came out most were resolved. If you gave us your computer specs we could tell you more.

due to the wide variety of system hardware combinations out there, different users have reported different experiences with windows 7.
overall though, the general impression seems to be that 7 is a very competent operating system; amongst other things, it boots up faster than vista, manages memory more effectively and generally feels snappier and more responsive in use.
your mileage may vary, so try a dual-boot setup first to test compatability with your hardware and software. Most people who have done this end up choosing 7 as their main day-to-day system, and eventually ditch vista altogether.
You'll never know until you've tried yourself - give it a go! You will probably love it - we do!

Seriously, I switched back from Linux and that should say all that needs to be said....
My advice would be to dive into Windows 7 as soon as you can. I had to make a few initial tweaks but for the last couple of months its been a pleasure to use. My machine is on 24/7. I play hard core games such as crysis, watch 1080p movies while constantly uploading & downloading things from the internet, never a crash or lockup it really is as solid as a rock. Now for the general review.
I can't speak highly enough about this operating system. It has been improved in every way over previous versions. You can access every part of your computer from one nice neat window including all the content from portable hard drives etc. The new style media libraies are fantastic and seem to sync automatacally between my PC & Xbox 360. Setting up a home network is childsplay. I love some of the new features especially the magnifier. When I switch from my 20" monitor to my large LCD and sit back to watch a movie it can be difficult to see the desktop and find your video file. Just hit Magnifier and problem solved. I use it all the time now. Sticky notes are great but my machine is for home use, the feature would be great for the office or work laptop. Media centre looks great but sometimes has trouble scanning back & forward or resuming playback with HD movies, the screen becomes jittery, it's not my video card as other media players do not give me this issue. You have to really use it to fully understand the improvements. Don't waste another minute

here's another view of windows 7...
As all those before me have said, "Win 7 is the way to go." If possible—as stated in previous post—do a dual boot that way you will be able to play with 7 and if necessary you will have Vista/XP to fall back too.
And, o' by the way, WELCOME TO THE FORUMS.
I agree with the dual boot, for safety's sake...
Check into installing Win 7 into a VHD - this is also a 'kind of' dual-boot.
Need big disk, though.

My Initial impressions on Windows 7 is that it's much more beautiful and responsive than Vista.
Vista installation operated on my desktop for 3 years and more, but it never required formatting (Like Win XP). The rig is mainly used for gaming and playing around with different software. But sadly, it has to bow out to Windows 7.
Windows 7 is faster and more responsive (at least to me). The different functions integrated into Windows explorer like Libraries is a good way to centralize files (linked into) one location.
Significant improvements to the taskbar which now makes it even more functional, which I feel is a right step in the right direction.
Overall, I would say Windows 7 is a median between stability and speed, though I had problems with the IT 8212 ATA/RAID drivers before installation.
