    Bilocker has seized my HDD

An attempt to encrypt a data drive failed telling me that "1 or more disk errors prevented the encryption" and that i should " run a disk check" (the process stopped) after restarting my computer it resumed the encryption and to access the drive i needed to enter the password to unlock it (this i did successfully) the problem arose at my next startup, when i try now to access the HDD by entering the password it tells me....

"BitLocker Drive Encryption failed to recover from an abruptly terminated conversation. this could be due to either all conversation logs being corrupted or the media being write protected!

OK i thought so i reached for the BitLocker Recovery Key i had stored on a different HDD, but when i enter that i get told

"Error recovering disk H: The recovery key you typed is not correct. type it again."

i know that it cant be incorrect as i have only one recovery key and its ID matches the ID number it asks for, it is not even a typo as i used copy/paste.

please help me recover this drive as i have 300 Gig of data that has not got a backup copy, what can i do?

I think you need to some professional help to fix this, try Microsoft directly or a HDD Recovery specialist.

I also suggest you remove that hard disk from your PC and not use it again, and setup you computer again on a new HDD (unencrypted) and use that until you get access to the data again and get a decent backup program.

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

For data recovery, I can recommend Recuva, and would suggest you choose one of the paid-for versions. You'll need another drive to save the recovered data.

Recuva wont even display the disk with the issue. i suspected i might have issues because the data is not "lost or deleted" but encrypted and as a result Recuva cant access the drive at all.
