Link style icons only on desktop?

I would like to know if I can apply the folder option for single clicking to open only to the desktop. I would like to leave other folders the traditional way. I realize the most likely answer is no, its either one way or the other, but I would appreciate a definitive answer. Thanks in advance.

Hello Coneyaw, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I'm sorry, but no. It's a all or none type setting.
