Windows 7 Multi-Monitor Taskbar - Confirmed?

Hello all,

I read recently that upon release, windows 7 will have multi-monitor taskbar support, which I'm very excited about. Is anyone able to confirm this, as it seems that they were already shipping win7 when this news emerged.

If I can pin programs to one monitor or the other, and have 2 "show desktop" buttons, then I'll be a very happy man.

Vista Ult 64 bit Seven Ult RTM x64

Hello Russell,

Welcome to Seven Forums.

These articles are from last year. Haven't seen or heard anything since. Haven't downloaded the RTM yet, but if it was there someone would have mentioned it I think.

Edit: beat me to it.

That is incredibly frustrating, god damn you microsoft!

Guess I'll have to keep using DisplayFusion Pro then.. you can't pin anything to the taskbar, it can't interact with the other taskbar, and there's no second 'Show Desktop' button.

I wouldn't mind a mirrored taskbar in all monitors ... the current one at 1920 pixels wide is sufficiently wide since I'm using True Launch Bar for launch shortcuts, but it's sometimes a pain to have to navigate from one mon to another just to launch etc.

3rd party multi-monitor management program (Snap, taskbar, etc)
I recently got a second monitor, and I am looking for some kind of software to help better manage multiple monitors. It's pretty obvious to me Windows doesn't come with much native "support" for this kind of stuff. Anywho, the main thing I am looking for, is greater Snap functionality. With one...
Taskbar Functionality (CTRL+Click to multi-select/manipulate windows)
Hi, I'm six hours into Windows 7 on my new Sony Vaio, which is proving... interesting. One of the taskbar features I used with XP many times every day -- the capacity to select multiple windows in the taskbar by holding down the Control key -- is missing, and I cannot find an equivalent...

Multi-Monitor Blanking in Windows 7
Can someone suggest me on how to blank screens for a multi-monitor setup? I have used IOCTL_VIDEO_SET_OUTPUT_DEVICE_POWER_STATE for windows XP and it works just perfect for me. This has been deprecated in Windows 7. Is there something similar I can try for windows 7?

Multi-Monitor Taskbar Support
Any suggestions to deal with multiple monitors in Win7? I was using UltraMon in Vista and really liked what it did. With all the changes to the taskbar in 7, UltraMon has lots of issues. Is there anything new in 7 dealing with the taskbar (across multiple monitors)? Thanks for any help? ...

How do I access my main monitor if broken in a multi-monitor setup?
I have a setup with 6 monitors. Today my main monitor broke and I couldn't find a way to shut the PC down since I couldn't access the main desktop to get to the Start menu. Is there a way to change which monitor is the main monitor without having access to the current main monitor?
