Cannot pin two firefox shortcuts to the taskbar - win7 home

Using Firefox 7.0 now after the latest upgrade and this all worked in version 6 but now with version 7 I cannot pin both of my shortcuts for my wife and I to the taskbar at the same time. Each shortcut is launching FF with different profiles. But windows seems to think they are the same program which they are of course but with different arguments.
I did this in FF6 but can't now. If I pin one of them, they both show on the right click as "unpin from taskbar". Same for the start menu. And if I try dragging the unpinned shortcut to the taskbar, I get the icon indicating I can't do it. I've even tried making copies of the icon in the roaming folder but only one shows up.
There was a hint to pin any other program to the taskbar then go into properties and change the target string and name to turn it into my shortcut, but the minute you save the properties that 2nd new shortcut disappears, I guess the OS sees the fault and removes the duplicity.
It's driving me crazy. I did make a shortcut running cmd /C firefox.... etc and this works but the cmd window stays till I exit. A minor flaw but none the same.

The problem is not solved so much as addressed. After much research / attempts etc, I backloaded the last version 6.0x version and this works fine. I'm now assuming its version 7.
However I will not let this sit, as I had issues moving from version 5 to 6. Now 6 to 7. So possibly another upgrade attempt is in my future. Wish me good luck.
