reading a HDD in a Caddy
Is there any software program that can read a HDD in a caddy irrespective of the formatting of the files.
What I'm trying to read is a HDD out of a Humax 9200 PVR.

oops sorry I didn't understand the question at first.
I thought you were wanting windows to access it. which it will not do usually. windows only likes to see other windows installs
Welcome to Seven Forums wysiwyg49. What format are the videos in? You can try this VideoLAN - Official page for VLC media player, the Open Source video framework!
If this is a USB attached HDD, it may not work and you'd need an eSATA enclosure.
Not quite true, Windows 7 can read/write to a HDD with only files on it if it has FAT32 or NTFS format, maybe FAT16, but I've not tested this.
It is a SATA caddy, but being unable to read the HDD can't say what the format is,
Putting in a spare HDD it sees it and opens it.
So it can't be a windows type format.
Possibly you are locked out of it because of Digital Copyrights issues....
They have a Forum where you may find other ideas and info.
Whats confusing, there is no indication of recognition, no error messages, nothing.
