Windows 7: Configure laptop's lid angle to turn off the monitor, viable?

Using Power options to turn off the monitor will work when the system has been idle for the set time. If you want to turn off anyway, use that way and simply turn it back on, you'd be doing this anyway.
Other option is not leave it on 24/7 which also can be detrimental to a laptop. If you insist on mistreating your laptop buy a "cool pad" to set it on when you lock it up.
As for screen burn-in use the blank screen saver which makes a black, blank display.

I have a laptop and a separate monitor set up above my laptop. How To Configure Laptop Modem
I'm going out on a limb here in what I want to do. I'm not even sure it can be done. Is there anyway for me to get a dial tone out of my laptop? I get my wifi from a Verizon UML290 LTE modem. I need it to run my credit card machine in my vehicle.
