well that's what i meant. Shouldn't have. Delete the graphics adaptor in Devices.msc in safe mode and reboot, if 7 itself doesn't install the driver do a New Hardware search and let 7 install it's default driver.
yes but i installed the 186.18. not the 190.38. or it doesn t matter?

i wanted to see what the original shipped with 7 beta nvidia driver does. 186 is really a vista only driver that works somewhat in 7.

well, leave it alone for a couple days, run some graphics apps and see what goes down....
If it works to satisfaction you can sit it out till a WDM driver comes out

welcome to the Wacky World of Windows . Normally i do a clean install of any Windows version every so many months. Software dirt collects in the nooks and grannies of the OS over time.

Since the base code of windows surpassed human comprehension about the time NT was finalized there's absolutely no telling when (not if) the OS grinds to a halt.

I got the same problem and I got a Nvidia 6200, tried the new nvidia drivers. I just however did repair install and uninstalled firefox.

I have updated my foxconn bios, which didnt help. It really pissing me off.
