    I just have one suggestion then I'll sit back and listen--Too many cooks in the kitchen. :)

    Open the Snipping Tool and select an area.
    Open Paint and select Paste.

    Does anything show up in Paint?

    It wasn't meant to be a fix. Just checking if anything was being selected. I suspect you may not have authority or the Security settings for Snipping Tool have been changed.

    Click the ORB (Start Programs) and right click on the Snipping Tool
    Click Properties, then click the Security tab.
    Check to make sure your Permissions allow "Write" (shows as checkmark).

    Ok one last try. Where are you saving the snips. All I can think is they are somehow hidden.Try unhiding hidden files and folders and protected system files and look in your save location again.
