SHELL32.dll error

    SHELL32.dll error


    please help when i turn on my laptop it loads up normaly but then when the logon screen comes on there is noware to type password and a box pops up saying
    "the program can't start because SHELL32.dll is missing from your computer. try reinstalling the program to fix this problem" what does this mean.
    i am running on windows 7 64-bit on asus x5dc k50 series laptop.

    Well, josh that's what it means. shell32.dll is a key Windows file, I'm not even sure your laptop will boot into Safe mode, but that is what you should try next (F8 at bootup). If not then a Repair Install is probably your best bet, or pull the drive and connect to another PC and restore the shell32.dll that way, from another W7 PC.
