Good news I am up and running without the error about the boot sector. I ran the Toshiba test for the hard drive and it came back and said everything was ok I also ran the one that SeaGate has because it works on any disk and it came up good too. I used Bootrec.exe that was on the windows web page How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows and followed all the steps and no luck. I deleted all the partitions and tried the Bootrec.exe again and no luck. Then I decided to go back and try bootcect.exe which I tried before posting on here and it fixed it. Thanks for all your help

I have a question about using ei.cfg Removal Utility. I do not have the copy of Windows Home Premium 64 bit for this laptop but I do have My Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and thought I'd use the ei.cfg Removal Utility to make a master Win 7 install DVD. I made an ISO of my Win & DVD and ran the ei.cfg Removal Utility and it said it removed it. I then used the windows 7 usb dvd download tool to put the file on my Flash drive and everything worked just fine. I installed Windows 7 on the laptop and it was a successful install but it never asked me for my product key and it put Windows 7 Ultimate 64 on it instead of the Windows Home Premium 64. Did I miss a step somewhere?

You must have not selected Home Premium from the menu when the disk first booted. Was such a menu presented? If not unlock the ISO with the tool and write to stick again. Reinstalling Windows 7

I did not see the menu to select the version. I repeat and let you know how it turns out.

If this is a PC manufacturer's reinstallation DVD it may not have the other versions to unlock. Try again and make sure the tool says it is unlocked as running it twice can lock it back again.

It is the DVD I received from Dell but it did say unlocked or something like that. Does ei.cfg Removal Utility actually remove the ei.cfg file?

Yes it does. Most Reinstallation DVD's do not contain the other versions to unlock, but you can try.

You may need to borrow or find a Win7 retail installation DVD.
