    Keyboard help

No doubt there is an easy fix for this, but as I am low-tech it has eluded me. All of a sudden, when I press the apostrophe-parenthesis, or the slash-question mark key, I get the letter e with an accent mark.=èÈ Why is this and what would be the fix. Thank you kindly, Rusty

Looks like French. Have you bought your machine from Canada, configured for French?

Is this occurring in all inputs where you type something? Or just for say Word, when you compose a document?

Do a Win7 HELP search for "add or change an input language". This might be the answer and solution.

I had a similar problem using Word on a friend's PC, being unable to avoid getting those accent marks added automatically when I was simply doing things like typing an apostrophe. She had purchased the PC in Canada. I had to change the settings in Word to consider the keyboard to be "English-USA" instead of "French-Canada", and that did the trick.

Try this...Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Region and Language, Keyboards and languages tab, click Change Keyboards and select English (Unites States)-US from the drop down menu. If there are others listed in the pane below, click Remove/Apply/OK.
