Any ideas if the ESC key being pressed during booting would cause a problem?

Any ideas if the ESC key being pressed during booting would cause a problem?
holding the esc key when its just about to boot into windows stops any programs from starting on start up.
for example my paint mixing machine at work boots straight to the full screen mixing software, holding esc makes it stay at desktop
They USED TO BE FREE but no more.
The recovery disk of which you speak - can I build one or do I have one given that I have an operational desktop with Windows 7 Home Edition 86x.
recovery disks, repair disks, boot disks, iso images, back up files, so many methods, so much to learn
I hope this ole man has time enough to grasp all of this.
you can make them if your computer is up and running, windows has the feature built in Create a system repair disc
now now dont be ageist im still learning daily and im a ripe old 22 lol
ok i have a update,
when i boot up i see the blue screen which im taking it as the aero screen or the default login screen, but i dont see the login information but for a quick second i see what looks like a cmd box window appear and then close really quick,
any help would be appreciated greatly
ok im going to go against everything i stand for and suggest taking out the hdd and virus scanning it on another computer.
People normally always suggest virus's as a last resort.. the thought process goes "hardware failure>drivers>user error>virus>work of the devil" lol
