Windows 7 automatically changing display color

The downside is that many makers don't have the latest drivers available, which could be a problem if you're having an issue with a particular version of the driver. This is actually the case here if you go to the Asus website as their latest/only graphics driver is from 11/2/2009. NVIDIA has the latest driver as 10/24/2011. So, sometimes you have to pick your poison. Personally, I'd take the latest edition of a graphics driver with a bunch of known problems fixed rather than the possible added F-button functionality.

Right, but the only available graphics driver on the ASUS website for this laptop is two years old. NVIDIA's latest release of these drivers are from today with two years' worth of fixes and enhancements that could very easily have already addressed this user's issue. There is nothing to lose in installing them straight from NVIDIA. If they don't fix the issue, you can easily revert back, but there's no sense in not trying them because some people have had issues in doing so. Not to say it can't happen, but I've never had a problem installing graphics drivers on any of my laptops directly from NVIDIA or ATI.

i did update my graphics card from Nvidia's website, and no luck. still got it.

So it isnt a graphics problem then...? do i need to update a monitor driver? is this something stupid windows is doing?

Also, when i updated nvidia it automatically uninstalled the old driver

What I'm looking to see is what you have as default ICC profile.

The other thing you need to do is check to see what your video card is using for color temperature? Sort of like this......



yours may be different but this is to give you a general idea of what you're looking for. If there's a default switch or something like that click it and see what happens? Post an image of that one too if you can.

And yeah it could be a driver issue too, but.....

As for the driver, use Revo Unistaller and reinstall your driver. The nVIDIA driver clean install isn't clean always, I know I have nVIDIA GFX.

There is a display driver on that page. It's under "VGA". And it's from November of 2009 as I talked about earlier.
