BIG boo boo
Hi all, as the title says. A few months ago I downloaded a file "Take Ownership" from Windows 7 Forum & it works fine, just right click on a file & away you go. Well last night I inadvertently right clicked on my ... c:\ user ... folder, a command window jumped up & away it went, took 45min. on a 6.0GB folder, I thought of cancelling it but decided to let it run its course. Everything seems to be running OK but I am a bit worried by what I have done, is there any way to reverse the process or would it be best to leave as is. Thanks for any advice.

Hello Dooley,
The only way to undo it would be to do a system restore at boot using a restore point dated before you did this.
However, you already have ownership of your C:\Users\(user-name) folder, so there really isn't anything to worry about with it. :)

Hi Brink, thank you for the swift reply. That's a load off my mind I will go with your advice & just leave it. You say I already have ownership of C:\Users\(user-name) folder so what did I do by clicking on "Take Ownership" & what was all the names running by on the command window. Thanks for your time Brink, just trying to get my head around this.

The lines in the command window was the taking ownership of each file and folder in your user folder, and setting the permissions of these files to "Allow" your user account to have "Full control" of them. You already did though.

Many thanks again Brink, don't know what we would without you guys.
