How do I get the open explorer button to work like in Vista?

In Vista I could click on the "e" button and a new home page would open up which came in handy when I wanted to keep the currently viewing explorer page open.

Middle click (The scroll wheel usually is a middle button too) on the taskbar button for IE or hold shift + left click.

Win + e does not work but clicking the middle mouse button does, thanks.

Hmm, WIN+E works here. Maybe because I have no mouse - LOL.

That works on links as well.

These apply in FF and IE:

    • Shift + left click - opens the link in a new window.
    • Ctrl + left click - opens the link in a new tab.

They also work in the Bookmarks/Favourites and History panes/windows.

In FF, those also work on the Forward and Back buttons and the drop down history list.

Maybe I misunderstood the question. The OP said "Explorer" - so I assumed he meant Windows Explorer. But it does not matter. He can use the wheely.
