I'm sorry for starting this thread!
    Don't be Visy,

You couldn't have known people would turn this harmless question into a fight and launch personal attacks at each other.

But I hope members, especially the ones that have been around for a while, will have the common sense to see that enough is enough.

Let every one enjoy the OS they prefer and be done with it.

that's not fair! you talk common sense here we talk with passion, love, and staunch preconceptions firmly entrenched... A pox...
Scratch, scratch. The up arrow is present in some dialog boxes, which means Win7 sux and MS is stupid. I can't get Aero to work in XP and it keeps crashing when I try - MS is so ignorant to make this XP - they should stop selling it it sux so bad.

i have long suspected that madonna is lemmy - have you ever seen them together in the same room? and no, don't show me any photos of them together - the camera (with software assistance) often lies.

    1. Do you have a list of XP 'tools' that you consider good (and necessary) ?
    2. Which two have you 'hacked' ?
    3. If MS deems them 'not needed', chances are, most people really don't need them.
Some people will want them back.
I'm afraid that if no one complains, these good XP tools/features are gone forever.
I will be installing the RTM from M$ today .. And be going over this list again
    Windows 7 Annoyances

I think it's a shame to park an expensive new car in the driveway ...
Then have to sneak down to the Auto parts store ..
and get some after market addons to install power windows and cruise control.

Try to download new driver version (190.38) for your card (6 series in your case) from nVidia site, it will make your graphic score better...
And of course install Win & 64bit. That will make your CPU score better too...

Windows 7 is the only way to go... as for XP or Vista, it is faster, smoother, less crud, and easier to work with. (IMHO) Computer tech since 85. I am retired now so I do not have any need for Win95 upto and including XP or Vista to pay my bills. I'm RETIRED.
More over MS needed a why to help Video Card manufactures sell more and better VIDEO CARDS. ever notice that the lowest score on over 95% of the Win7 or Vista
on Performance is CRAPPY Video Cards...

Last nite I watch a DEMO on 1985 cars to 2009 cars. the newer fancy cars cost upto $2500 to $3500 to repair while the old 1985 clunkers cost was below 400.00. at a 5 to 8 mph crash test.
If it works and you like it KEEP IT, ps: there is a easy way to hack to performance score sheet if that would make you happy to see it a 4.7 or 5.3,
