Can someone PLEASE help me with UAC problem

I have a few problems that are related to UAC I would appreciate answers to each one if possible.

    1. The other day I mistakenly clicked "run as administrator" on Adobe Reader and now every time I open a .pdf file I ahve to get the UAC popup and click yes. Hoe can I undo that.

    2. I use Synctoy to do backups and I always have many many issues with permissions and files are not backed up. I turned UAC off and ran Synctoy and it backed everything up without any issues.

I am the only person who works on my home computer so I would like to have UAC turned off but I realize that if I was to visit a website it would be possible for it to change things on my computer id UAC is turned off.

Is there a way to be safe and also not have the permission problems, I need to backup so UAC is causing me more problems than it is worth, I think?

I know it is easy, "just turn it off" but I do not want to do that unless I can feel safe doing so.

    Thanks for any help

    Hello EaglePI,

Double check to see if you may have checked the Run the program as an administrator box in compatibility mode with the Adobe Reader shortcut or EXE file. If you did, then unchecking the box and clicking on OK should stop it. :)

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

You might see if having the Run the program as an administrator box checked in compatibility mode for Synctoy may help when you have UAC turned on to "Always Notify" (top level).

That did work for SyncToy !!!!!!!! yeah!!!

I only have one problem with a program not being backed up becasue it can't access the files becaseu it is being used,ie open

Closing that one program before running SyncToy is a easy fix now that everything else it fixed.

    Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
