64 Bit issues
I'm going to preface this with saying I've had no problems running anything up until today. However, as I logged on today nothing wants to run. It looks as though it's an issue with 32 Bit programs. But I'm not positive. Very few programs currently on my computer will run. I can see them starting in the task manager but they immediately stop. None of my Internet programs(IE, Opera, Firefox). The only one currently capable of running is the 64 bit IE.
My first instinct was to run Ad Aware. However, that won't start. It doesn't even run on startup as it is supposed to. I tried to run dxdiag just to see if it would. Got nothing. I read something that recommended downloading and installing Malware bytes. It downloaded but never gave me the installation screen(I'm assuming thats apart of the things that now won't work). None of the programs running under my hidden icons on the taskbar are doing anything if I click them.
I tried running in safe mode. Same problems. I've tried a System restore, to a point yesterday morning when the computer worked fine. Didn't help. I tried a Chkdsk. Nadda. I've got Windows Defender(Apparently it works) scanning now in hopes of finding something. But I'm not holding my breathe. One of my other thoughts was maybe the firewall just went heywire and decided to block everything. But I can't even get to my firewall. That too won't come up on screen.
Sorry if this seems a bit wordy. But does anyone have any idea what could be up?
Few quick other bits of info:
Windows Home 7 Premium
64 Bit Operating system
Quick Edit, I'm staring at Task Manager and it seems like I'm seeing a an "svchost.exe*32bit" running and crashing repeatedly under the list of processes. Could that be an issue?
