    So what you want to do is use your notebook and PC's resources together? That's not possible I'm afraid. Anyways, using a broadband cable would be way to slow to do this...

    What are your current PC specs?

    Yes, like this run a program (video editor ) in pc then connect my notebook to pc and use its resources as additional resources for my pc

    PC= Intel E2200 core2duo 2.20 ghz
    3Gb ram
    512mb video card
    250gb hdd

    notebook
    intel atom idk the number/model but its quad core and running at 1.50ghz
    1gb ram
    250gb hdd

    i've found this software called Xoreax Grid engine but it wants to create an xml file but i dont know how they only gave me this http://www.xoreax.com/webhelp/pages/..._structure.htm

    Ok its not possible, so don't bother. That Xoreax Grid thing looks fake-ish, just don't use it. Now lets see...

    Your notebook is very bad. The Intel Atom is very slow and just no good for video encoding and the like. Also, 1GB of RAM is too little. Just forget using the notebook for video, its just not worth the trouble.

    Your desktop... The CPU kind of sucks. The amount of RAM is ok I guess. What type of video card do you have though? Whats the model and manufacturer? Download and install Speccy Speccy - System Information - Free Download, it will tell you.

    XGE most definitely isn't fake. It's been around since 2002 and does exactly what it claims.

    To the OP: have you downloaded XGE and read any of the supporting documentation yet? Is your application compatible with XGE? Have you done any research on this technology, other than coming here and asking about it?

    Ok I'm going to shut up... I guess I don't know what I'm talking about. Enlighten me though, how is it possible to share resources between two computers via a cable? The cable I doubt is fast enough as PCI Express speed, so wouldn't it slow it?

    You should visit their website and read about the technology.

    To the OP: I recommend sending them an email and asking for some assistance. Distributed computing isn't something you can just jump into and start working with - you need to know exactly what you are doing and how to properly configure your software and hardware.
