    exe icons not displaying properly

Only if an exe file is selected.

Rebuilding the icon cache didnt help. All other extension icons display fine. Is there a way to fix that?

Yes its a common error that exists in windows 7. Not sure why it happens or if its just related to x64 but use the tutorial Brink created above to bring back the correct icon. Its only a cosmetic thing.

Try this : Fix_Open Toolbar Context Menu Icon.zip

In the zip. there is a registry entry. Merge it, and see the change .

Edit : This time it is me, Danny :) But it works perfectly!

Your reg file works too Danny, thank you. And I think the icon displays a bit faster as with the first method.
