    Hi Cyclops,

Not much change. I have discovered I can stop the autocompleting by pressing Esc. I am unable to reinstall the OS with F9 on startup as it is not responding to it and I now always get the attached screen on startup before Windows starts. This has been happening since the autocompleting started.

Does anyone else have access to your machine?

That screenshot seems to indicate that you also have a Linux Distro installed as well as Windows.

Hi Glideabout. What kind of shop was it that did your hard drive and keyboard replacement? That screen should not be coming up if you have a new hard drive (HDD), unless the used Linux software of some sort to copy your old drive to a new one. I am very suspicious that they did a pretty half ass job or nothing much at all.

The guys in the repair shop in Adelaide where the new HD was installed assured me that Linux was not installed when I phoned them!

    Gooood Luuuuuccckk. You are contaaaaaageous.
    Just kidding.
Get a full refund and a proper fix. As a matter of fact demand that they satisfy your request for this and test it thoroughly before you leave the premises.
Threaten them of my powers and how far I reach.

All said, I fear that I might see you in here next month complaining of an illegitimate installation of Windows. If that happens you know the shop you have been to has a racket going on.
