    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Are you using the touchpad or a mouse?

You say you downloaded a service pack for Windows. There is only one, which is SP1, so was it SP1 or an update that you downloaded.

Whichever one it was you can either restore your system to point before it was installed or you can uninstall it yourself.

    Hi Thanks for your response,
    Using touchpad.
It said on the screen installing service pack.
How do I restore the system bearing in mind the cursor won,t move!
If I install a mouse will that help?

You haven't given us any of your computer specifications or who manufactured it, but try a mouse anyway.

If the mouse works then there is a problem with the touchpad.

Have a look at your touchpad settings and make sure it hasn't been disabled. You should find something under the Start>All Progams menu.
