In the same dialog box, click on Add button. Go down to English (United States), click on plus sign before it. Click on plus sign before Keyboard. put a checkmark on US and press OK button.

The English (United States) will be added below the English (United Kingdom). Now in the Default input language section, click on the dropdown box, select English (United States)-US.

In the installed services, select English (United Kingdom) and press Remove button and press OK button.
