Windows 7: Downloaded file does not appear on Desktop without F5

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Check in the original location (C:\Users\[user]\) to see if there's a desktop folder there. Some programs install to that location, rather than using the new location.

If there's one there, check what's in it, move the contents to the proper desktop folder, then delete the folder from C:\users\etc. But first, make sure it is definately relocated (there will be no 'Location' tab in the properties).

I'm not sure if this will fix it, but it's worth a go! :)

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Yea sadly I have tried moving my desktop back to the C drive and then back to the other drive again to see if it would correct it. It was a no go.

Windows 7 Professional

I have been searching for the solution to this problem on and this forum, but have yet to find one. Is there one available somewhere? I am aware that this thread is quite old, but it's two pages and there isn't any working solutions posted in it, so I hope others won't mind that I'm bumping it. Thanks.

Newly downloaded programs don't appear on desktop.
So for example, I download the file ''File.rar'', download completes, but its not on the desktop. To make it appear, I have to refresh (Right click > Refresh). Does anyone know how to make it so that they just appear on my desktop without having to refresh?
