    Win 7 Family Pack

I installed a second copy of Windows Home Premium on my Netbook. I now get a message 'Invalid Copy'. My question is the 'UPGRADE' is not really an upgrade but instead I need a new key. Will a Family Pack overlay an allready installed win 7.

I will not be upgrading from XP or Vista.

Can you clarify what you've done so far? Are you trying to use a key from another installation on your netbook? If so, that's not allowed. If you can boot Windows, then you should be able to activate Windows using the valid family pack key.

What was on the netbook originally?

There needs to be an XP or Vista copy which orgiinally came on the netbook, or a retail copy of either of those you have on hand which you dont' intend to use, to qualify for using Win7 UPgrade version - and it doesn't need to be installed to serve as qualifer. Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version.

Some users have reported success inserting the Upgrade version in the Anytime Upgrade designed to move from to a higher version of Win7.

But you WILL need to upgrade from XP or Vista to use the Family pack.

Get Windows 7 for the whole family.

The pack includes one product key that you can use on three computers.
