It was at the very top of my first post: Desktop Icons - Change or Restore Default Icon - Windows 7 Forums. I also posted it in your other thread as the first reply.
I think we're getting a pretty good idea of what's going on here, and being blamed on MS.
The recycle bin will always appear on the desktop when a Windows 7 computer is booted up the first time.
Somebody had to have done something for its icon to get hidden.
We answered this in another thread, but don't blame Microsoft for what your laptop OEM did to your computer. The Recycle Bin works the same way it always has, including the way to restore files.
As I said in that other thread, there's a reason why most of us do a clean install on OEM systems. The reason is, so we can set up the systems properly, and to our liking.
So how do You get back the recycle bin on the desk top? It is enabled but not visible on any of my 4 screens. In case it is not retrievable/manageable I would like to be sure it is not using any disk space at all. As it would be useless waste of space reserved for a feature not serving the user.
Perhaps Allow Recyle Bin Icon to Display Option 1 number 1 here:
Recycle Bin Icon - Allow or Prevent to Display
A Guy
It's always been on. I've read the thread. As for the menu bar tinkering I went steps up to using gpedit.msc. No results with the trash bin what so ever. Does that have anything to do with the thing?
How do i get bin back or destroy the whole trash bin all together. Should that be easier?
You need to find it so you know you don't have deeper systemic issues.

SFC -SCANNOW Command
Where else does it say in this thread to run SFC? Your snide reply without any effort to interact with a solution I was trying to move forward will only earn you ZERO further help from anyone who reads this thread.
